Yep, that's normal. You should have a battery light, the Wait to Start light (the little curly orange light) and a transmission light as well. (I think that's all of them. Parking brake to?)
This is what the Owners Manual says about the check guage,
Check gauge: Illuminates when any of the following conditions has occurred:
1: The engine coolant temperature is high.
2: The engine oil pressure is low.
3: The fuel gauge is at or near empty.
Is the orange curley on the bottom left? Is that the glow plug indicator?
It's called the Wait to Start (or WTS as you'll see a lot of guys say) light. technically it's the glow plug indicator, but you cannot trust it to tell you if the glow plugs are on or not. I forget all the exact details, but basically it comes on for a preset amount of time. If it's really cold out, your plugs could stay on up to 2 minutes AFTER that light goes out. If it's really warm out your plugs may not come on at all, even though that light does come on. Search GPR LED on this forum and you'll find the proper way to hook up a light to get a real indication of when your GP's are on.

Nothing fits those areas so I assume its normal.......
Good advice about the WTS lights....
