Transmission trouble

I just got in my truck to move it and it felt like the brake was on.It would barely move put in park and back to drive same thing, looked at dash and it showed it was in fifth gear.I put it in park and cut it off and restarted it works fine now.Has anybody had this problem?

Haven't had this problem, but I'm curios. Were you in manual mode when you drove it last?

Problem

This problems was talked about 2 month. Ford put out a relash to fix the problem. When you get the truck they don't always reflash them.

When you restarted the truck were the gear indicators still displayed in the message center? If they were not visible, you do not have the 400/800 flash. The 400/800 flash had some important transmission code refinements included.

If you do see the gear indicators, you have the new flash but there is a group of trucks with certain option packages and manufacture dates that need an update to the 400/800 flash. Your dealer can run the vin number, using their IDS computer, to determine your status.

This is nothing to worry about. Just take it in to the dealer at your convenience. If the dealer balks, find a better dealer.

Regards
