innie or outie?

At this point its no sweat either way so which should I use an outer timing chain seal or an inner timing chain seal?

the future replacement idea seems obvious but which is better?

well, this is what is adding to my confusion... im not at home right now other wise i would just go look at it. i saw this page and oddly it makes sense why you would want the outer one but whats the deal with the inner one? is it better?

A guess would be there are two seals? Alternatively, perhaps different engines came
with different configurations over time, get the one you need.

I believe the 300 I6 uses a seal that goes in from the inside, which means pulling the front cover.
