Best setup for hauling canoe's
Ok looking to see what has worked for others. I have two canoes. I'm looking to do either the Tower/ladder rack idea or get a canopy with racks on top.
I'm tired of throwing them in the back of my truck and when we take the travel trailer I'm really tired of climbing on top and fighting them up/down let alone the securing issues.
So show/tell me what have you done pros/cons.
Thanks

I see you have the crewcab. I bought a roof rack that I use for hauling canoes and kayaks. Works great and I just take the racks off and hang them in the garage when I am not using them. It is a very versatile system that can be configured different ways depending on what I want to haul.

Yes on crew cab. I got two sets of yakima tower racks. They hardly get them off the roof. I have a 1*4 underneath but somewhat leary. The removable ones don't work on the 2011 trucks according to yakima. Other option is permanent mount but really do not want to go that route because of the side airbags. Guess I need to look at another brand and see what they have.
