I too am very interested in the 3.7 with a 4x2 supercab XLT with the Custom Package.
Where in SD? I'm from Lemmon, SD. (Northwest part of the state) Very rarely do you meet someone from either N or SD....that 600k population of a state is a killer

East River. Moved from Brookings to Sioux Falls 18 years ago. Still cold here and tons of snow.

Yes it does get cold. Dunno if it's as cold as up north, but certainly close. After about -20F it all feels the same.

I have a 2011 f-150 3.7 with 3.73 LSRear with about 394 miles on it. I live in philly and there is a lot of stop and go traffic here, and I'm avg around 11.5 in the city. Hwy about 19.5 so what's up with the EPA ratings of 17 city and 23 Hwy. I sure hope things add up to Fords EPA ratings. .After trading in my 08 SD F-350 4x4.Now if i can only figure out how to post up some pics of the new ride.

Do you still have your factory window sticker? If so, under the 17 and 23 you will see another set of numbers that reflect other possible MPG figures you could be getting.

For instance and as an example only:

17 mpg city 23 mpg hwy
you may average 13-19 19-27

This is all predicating on your axle ratio, driving habits, road conditions and configuration of the truck.

My time,

It will get better. There are a lot of changes as things settle in and the computer calibrates.

Tim. I see what you are saying,But 11.5 city? I was doing better at 150 miles on this truck. I have a reg cab with a 8ft bed and it's a 4x2. I sure hope my mpg go ^ or i will have this look

Any one else out there have the same setup 3.7 v6 3.73 Ratio limited slip axle , Reg cab with a 8 ft bed, 4x2. That lives in the inner city, that's avg about the same as i am?

Just got my new truck, 2 days ago.

I just got the 2011 3.7 4x2 STX. Love it so far. Has alot of power doesn't feel like its a 6 at all. I wish I could give more feedback in regards to MPG. I will keep everyone posted. I have 122 miles on my truck. Had .8 on the lot, so its still pretty new to me. I have 3/4 tank left on the gauge and 122 miles so far.

I will try to track and get some more info added to the discussion as far as MPG for the 3.7.

I'm very impressed with the engine and the truck. I will try to post a picture. Can the free membership post pictures?

Thanks,
Mike

MPG Feedback

Up to 389 miles on the truck. AVG MPG is showing 16.1. All I've done is driven back and forth from work. 9 miles on an interstate and 2 miles stop and go and that is one direction.

389 miles total. .8 when I got the truck from the lot. I still have 1/4 of a tank left from my first fill up.

I just turned in a 2011 XLT SuperCrew 2wd with the 3.7 that I rented for 8 days. I needed to move some furniture from Virginia to Florida. I was pretty impressed with the truck. Anyway, I drove 1848 miles and used a little over 91 gallons, or an average of 20.23 mpg for the whole trip. Obviously the mileage could have been a little higher if I hadn't been running 75-81mph for 1000 miles on I-95. I used up about a whole tank driving around while I was up there. It averaged 21.5 doing that.

Hate to say it but once you put some weight on the truck to do some work it may just tax that engine.. Does it seem like it is running at high rpms alot. Just curious, do you have a heavy foot. Best thing i can tell you is something i was told once. Act like there is an egg under your gas pedal if you increase it slowly it will roll up behind pedal if you mash it you will break the egg.
