hey me and the girlfriend are new to edmonton and we both have 4x4s.
we love to go mudding all the time but dont really knwo where to go and we are wondering if theres any one on this site who goes and might be looking for more company to go with.
Personally I'm not a "mudder" but as far as scenic areas to truck, I'd suggest heading out to the Edson area (MacCleod River), keeping heading west to the Hinton area and also take the trunk road down to Cadomin. Drop dead beautiful scenery there. From Cadomin there are a few off road trails along the Black River (treacherous in Spring!) you may like.
I'm a hard core fisher so these were my escapes. Great truck country though for any excuse.
p.s. you may find yourself becoming a "rockhound" vice "mudder" in this neck of the woods.
pps. Oh yeah, If you are hell bent on mudding, Egg Lake out west past Cardiff would probably work as would Lake Wabumun (sp?) south of Ed.
