Vin Location

I have an F-150 with no visable vin.
Is there any other location other than door jam to locate it?

Should be one, looking from the drivers side fender at the very bottom edge of the windshield in to the dash and in the corner.

Not on a 73-79 truck.

How about: On the Top of passenger side Frame rail between the Radiator & Firewall.
Or
Top of passenger side frame rail under the cab.

I've seen on some 73-79's a steel plate stamped with the vin and other numbers screwed to the firewall behind the air cleaner.

Also they attach the same tag to the bottom front edge of the bed too. Sometimes the build sheet will still be stuffed in the spring of the seat too.

I had forgotten that these trucks don't have them through the windshield. My daughter has my dads old 78, 1/2 ton, 4x4, so its been a while since I have looked at it. But I do know for sure that it has one on the firewall like "mk" mentions in his post.

My mistake.
