ozzy, like joe said. i'll translate.

the track bar keeps the axle located side to side when the swing shackle is on the front of the springs. with that type of mounting and no track bar your front axle will actually move in the direction you steer. when you have the front of the spring as the solid mount you no longer need a track bar. i guess its something to do with the small amount of slop you get with a swing shackle v.s. a solid mount. guess it's enough to make your truck into a nightmare to drive even at 5 mph.

to add on what the guys said, the track bar is used because the front swing shackle is an "A" style shackle, and mounts inside the frame.
your 77 has a rear mounted "H" style shackle, that mounts outside the frame.
the #1 most overlooked thing on one of these trucks is the front inner shackle bushings.
because you can't see them, people forget about them.

then just build or buy one and don't worry about a track bar to begin with joe. if you can't make one buy the one from sky since you're on their nutz so hard, and than forget about spending money on the track bar. win win situation.

you'd have to box it with a homebuilt one too. you said you have a little wire welder, right? bevel the edges on all the pieces of plate and make a few passes with your little welder cranked up to max. should work, but i'm not a welder by any means........

i gona get stronger weilder when i get my check if i ever do i want to do this right so when i driveing down the freeway and my axle gets sucked under the truck

well then just wait till you get the new welder before you buy any parts. no sense in spending $80 on a track bar that you won't need after the shackle reversal.

yea i know the thing is my d44 front wheel beerings are all seizde up likr tjc butt hole do the d60 has all new bearings in it so i cant drive it till i do the swap for know the 2/10 has been geting me around but it starting to suck

I believe he said his wheel bearings were seized up like tom's butthole, I think that might be a good thing though.. don't want a floppy butthole
