Could someone please tell me how to identify the culprit of an incredibly annoying and embarrassing squeak coming from somewhere under my hood. I have already checked the belts and pulleys to no avail. What else should I look for? My Bronco is a 91 351. Thanks.
Get a 3' section of garden hose and use it like a stethoscope. When you find the squeak, stash the hose - you'll use it again for some other noise somewhere.

What kind of a squeak is it? Is it there all the time, or only intermittently? Does it get worse over bumps, or into depressions? Are you sure its under the hood? Ive had trim that makes noise trick me on more than one occasion.
Thanks Steve, I'll give it a try as soon as I have a spare minute....
As far as the typr of squeak, it doesn't start for a minute or two after I start her, some days its loud other days its pretty quiet. I think its worse in the rain or damp weather and it's pretty constant as far as speed. I haven't noticed any real change when I accelerate. I'm almost positive itsd under the hood as I have listened from above, below and both sides trying to get a bead on it. Thanks again.
i think i had the same squeak as you. mine turned out to be the fan clutch. take off the belt and see if the squeak goes away.dont let her run to long with the fan belt off. if the squeak is gone you know it is something that spins under the hood. idler pulley ps pump altornater you will find it.
