Does anybody know how to take the cigarette lighter out of a 54 f100 dash? I don't know even if it was original or an aftermarket, but it appears to be original. I can get a hold on it with pliers, but it just spins. Won't go in or out. IT JUST OCCURRED TO ME THAT THE ONLY FASTENER ON IT IS THE ONE ON THE VERY END. Maybe if I take that off, the unit has a sleeve that slides out the inside??? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks, John
There's probably a sleeve on it behind the dash that tightens up against the dash. Undo the wire on the back end of it. Use something to jam in the front of it to stop it from spinning on you and grab the outer part behind the dash and twist it (leftie loosie, righty tighty).
Should be a sleeve on the back that unscrews counter clockwise.. Lighter housing goes thru the front side of the dash and sleeve on the back. Watch wire as stated before. Simple process if its not seized. Have a good one,
Surefoot....
Hey guys, it worked. The lighter receptical had a nut in the back. When I took it off, the inside portion slid out the front and left the outside casing inside the dash. Isn't amazing how much easier things get when you know how? Thanks, John

Must've been the high-tech help, "Righty-tighty, lefty-loosey".
