After doing some research I am planning on disconnecting my EBPS so the the EBPV will stay open. My EBPV has been closing even when the engine warms up. I was wondering if there is a way to put an on/off switch between the PCM and the EBPS. This way when the switch is on the EBPS will work at normal and shut the EBPV to help the engine warm up but once the engine is warm I can turn the switch to off and it would be like disconnecting the EBPS. Let me know what you all think.
No big deal then, I'm with you, that would be the way to go. Think he could put in a 3way switch with a 470 ohm resister to ground to kill the soft code?

So you think that putting the switch on the wires to the EBPV and not the EBPS is the way to go? I read a post about someone making a exhaust break by putting a switch between the PCM and the EBPS and they were able to turn on the EBPV. It sounded like the cable to the EBPS was just a positive/negative cable, I read it quick a while ago so I might be wrong. So I was thinking that if I just put a switch on the positive side.
I searched on EBPV exhaust brake and found several ideas on how to do this from very basic and simple to one that integrates into your cruise control for an "automatic" exhaust brake. I know the OP just wants to be able to turn his off or on but this all sort of seems to be on the same path. I already have a DP with the decel and love being able to use it but I hate having to mess with the switch every time I need it.
If your EBPV valve is sticking open, wouldn't it be better to find out why that's happening and correct that?
