a heavy rumble type vibration

at the speeds of 55 - 65 mph i get this rumble or heavy vibration. before and after the posted speeds its not there. i can take my foot of the gas and it is still there. at first i was thinking ball joints, but when it was in my car it was more than just the listed speed. has anyone experienced this, or does someone know what this may be?

the driving is not affected, there are no odd happenings when turning, and there are no issues when braking.

First check your tire rims to see if there's any mud, snow, or ice on them that would throw the wheel out of balance. Second I would check the driveshaft u-joints for wear, especially the front double cardan joint on the rear driveshaft. The symptoms you've described sounds like an imbalance of some sort.
