A few questions......

I have been saving up my issues for the last 8 months or so and figured I would see if anyone has had any of these issues.

When I select my satellite radio to listen to the screen just says "SAT FAULT" I just have the 6 disc changer, premium audio but no nav.

When it is really cold out (-20 c or colder) when I first start my truck it will surge at idle until it warms up. It surges to about 1300 rpm then back down to 700rpm. It will do this until the high idle kicks in. Not sure if it's anything to worry about. I run conditioner in my fuel.

I have the edge cs programmer and flo pro exhaust, and I run it on the second setting, (out of 4) I noticed that my egt's run about 100 degrees (f) hotter under normal driving conditions and was wondering if that is bad for the engine. (It runs at around 550 to 650 f) Also how much boost can that engine handle, I know that stock programming allows up to around 35 psi, but with this programmer if i roll on the throttle in the highest gear, not enough to have the transmission gear down, but accelerating hard, the boost will come up over 40 psi. I have seen 43 psi, at which point I ease off the throttle. I'm wondering how other programmers compare... and if I could be potentially damaging anything.

I think the motor is rated at 41 psi. I have hit a few times, 36 is my high average.

I think you should put it back to stock and see what the idle does. I suspect it is a tuner problem and may need some updating of the software. I am running the banks and it is nice and smooth..it also will not put anything power wise till the motor is warmed up so that may be why.

Radio issues I have no idea, maybe check the reciever. I think it is above the e-brake.

Scott makes a good point, return to stock settings and see what the engine does.

I had returned the truck to stock and it still surged at idle while cold.... I will however, look into updating my software for my programmer. Thanks. What kind of tune are you running with your banks??? I believe I seen 36 psi before I added this programmer, while towing.

It is the 6-gun.

If you are still surging with no tuner then look at fuel gelling I would suspect.

Senix what do you mean when you say the motor is rated at 41 psi?

According to the diagnostics, the pcm is has a code that sets at 4050 hPa

P0234 X Turbocharger/Supercharger
Overboost Condition
This error occurs when the MAP sensor reading is above
the threshold for a predetermined period of time. 4050hPa > 5 sec System error, causes
of overboost.

those egt #'s are not even close to being something to worry about, I think these engines can double that stock. It does sound like your radio has crapped out on you unless it's an antenna issue? my truck stock, and towing will see about 38psi on the gauge. As long as you don't keep the boost up there for long periods of time you'll probably be o.k.(IMO)

O thats what the computer says. Okay I though you meant that ford put a 41 PSI rating on the m
engine.

sorry for the confusion. I think the motor could handle a little more but eventually it would lift the heads.

weekendwarrior what are you seeing for boost pressure with your spartan tune??? Also can you set limits with the spartan tuner so that the engine will actually defuel if it hits a certain limit, also with egts????
