I've had them in both my car and the X for 3(ish years) as well as on my motorcycle, all have the lights on as soon as I start them. I haven't lost the first bulb, that included 40K on the bike and 75K on the truck...I say they'll last...If I recall, I paid $13 for mine..it was cheaper than the silverstars.

Yep, I agree on the lights being terrible. what I want is a simple push bar (no grille guard) to mount a pair of Hella`s or something similar. some campgrounds we go to can be pretty dark on the back roads.

Thanks I appreciate the feedback. I'm planning on driving to Alaska this summer and in Canada it is customary to drive with your lights on as Canadian made vehicles must have daytime lights by law. So I need something that will last with continuous use. I'm also thinking about adding a harness from suvlights.com. I'll assume you haven't had any problem with melting of wires or headlight housings since you've been using them for an extended period. Thanks again for the info.

put the lite harness on the 05 Ex 120k and 5 yrs ago.... seemed to help...

but haven't seemed to need the extra lite on the 05 as much as I did on the 03...

u can check the piaa's and westin bull bar I added in my gallery...
https://www.ford-trucks.com/user_gal...=25206&width=2

also relocated the stock fogs upside down on the bottom of the bullbar.... had a total of about 300+ watts on front )

I use these, and they've been in my X for over 3yrs:
Susquehanna MotorSports - Auto Performance Product

Had these in F350 before making the mistake of going to '05 lenses...

Here's their (VERY NICE) relay harness - plug n play:
Susquehanna MotorSports - Auto Performance Product

I never had anyone think I had my hi-beams on if I didn't - these are brighter, but unlike HID's, the cut-off lines and focus are 100% retained so ya don't blind ME coming down the road.

Ya didn't ask me, but I despise all the cheeep HID's I see on the road - they hurt my eyes and the fact is, the owners don't see any better while blinding me. I have Electrosport HID's in my '05 lenses (because the 9008 bulb is an epic POS!!!) and the shape of the bulbs corrects the focus so the factory optics are retained - mitigating the blinding of oncoming drivers.

Also, the HELLA/Optilux bulbs I linked above are the same color as my HID's -5k (very WHITE) and in the '02 lenses put out almost as much light.

Has anyone tried something like these?

99-04 FORD F250 F350 TWIN HALO LED PROJECTOR HEADLIGHTS - eBay (item 380313652344 end time Feb-07-11 18:12:41 PST)

I was thinking about buying them as replacements to dress up the fron of the truck.

Not THOSE, but I bought something similar for my Suburban once. Like Momma always said ' Ya usually get what ya pay for'. I could tell coming out of the box they were CHEEEEEP, then they didn't fit right (gaposis), were impossible to aim (low beams pointed at ground - hi-beams pointed at space) and after 1yr, the 'chrome' inside the housing had already begun to delaminate. Besides that, they look waaaaay to 'ricer' to go on anything I own!!

Isn't it kinda funny 'shipping' is 50% of the item price?

You can find OEM clear lenses ('02-'04) and corners for about $100 used but NICE. For another $100 you can do the relay harness and bulbs I recommended. I like the look and the light performance is what you're looking for - for about $200 total.

But certainly let us know if ya get'em and more importantly how they perform/hold up!!!!!!!

Here's my '00 X with '04 lites:

and before:
