wrong coolant
So i tell my girl to pick up a gallon of anti-freeze. I told her to get the red stuff, not the green. I tapped off my reservoir( maybe a half a quart). never looked at the label on the bottle,it was dark out. turns out it was for rv's and boats to keep waterlines and pipes from freezing. Do you think it would be ok it I left it in?

I wouldn't. There is no way to tell what sort of reaction might occur between the different chemical compositions. It's not worth risking a motor on. Especially is that is a 6.0L diesel with oil coolers that tend to clog.

In this cold weather, sounds like a shop will need to do a chemical flush to get all that stuff out.
Had this happen on a '97 blazer, oil change shop mixed orange and green, and it turned to orange JELLO in my cooling system. Took 3 chemical flushes to get it all out, and it never was the same after. traded it for a FORD!

I would flush it out as well. Some combinations are not compatible. Many are, but some can pose real problems.
By the way, you can NOT go just by color anymore! You need to read the labels.

When I changed coolant last, I noticed that someone (Prestone?) made a supposed "universal" coolant that could be mixed safely with any other type. If it were to turn out that the chemical basis of the rv antifreeze were the same as the universal antifreeze it might make you feel like taking the risk.....
