If you look on ebay you will see them rebuilt selling between $1,500 and $2,000 with a warranty, but if you get a rebuilt unit from Ford it's warranted all across the country at any Ford dealer. I purchased a rebuilt trans for one of my trucks 3 years ago come this April and is still under warranty. You might pay a little more but your getting more warranty protection.
Well 20+ inches of snow, 7ft snow drifts, 30 hours straight working= Torqshift bye bye. Does anyone know how much $$$$ these go for off hand?? Thanks
I just pulled my tranny out couple weeks ago, and had torque ring, pump, and bunch of other items done it in
I took the tranny out my self and brought it to them, They benched repaired it for $1,750 cash, (They will range from $1,500 to $2,500 depending on who you can trust with it, and what is wrong with it.)
It will cost you almost twice as much if you bring the truck to them and have them do it.
(If you have the tools and gargae, It is not all that hard.)
I took my tranny out less than a day. and put it back in less than a day.
The only problem I had after I installed it, I must of broken one of the connectors to the sensor on the tranny.
Yes suncoast has an overhaul kit. It's a really nice kit. I would get a billit input shaft with it. The place that did my suncoast kit didn't charge any extra to r&r the trans. Just the rebuild labor.

Would that be your first upgrade suggestion? I would also like to get the transgo shift kit.
What happend? I think suncoast has an over haul kit.
I don't know exactly. It was very heavy snow I was pushing for a very long time. Lost reverse, then I decided to get home. I was at a light then gave her gas and it had neutralized. Had to drop it 1st and get it home. Tow haul was flashing however I don't know the codes yet. My edge insight decided to join my trans and take a crap too. It was a brutal storm here. 4 outta the 5 subs I have working with me went down as well. I'm looking for a very good reman/rebuilt to R&R I don't have the knowledge to diagnose and repair. Thank you guys.
Btw $2600.00 was the best I could find. That's a Ford Reman locally. I was suprised to see they had 1 in stock. I've never really heard of one goin out. Then again one of my subs had his Allison go out yesterday as well.
I think the current warranty on the trans your looking for is 3 year/100,000 miles. When I bought my trans in April of 2008 it was 3 year/75,000 miles. I think Fords main competitor, for rebuilt engines and transmissions is Jasper.

Who remans Ford's transmission? I'm assuming they don't themselves?
I don't know who is jobbing the work for Ford, but if my memory is correct the last trans I got from Ford came from Indiana as it came in a big plastic 2 piece container and the return address was on it.
