Oil Cooler

Does anyone know what year coolers will fit the 7.3 IDI ? I have a 93 and need a cooler, Ford dealer quoted me $537 plus install. Help please.

You need to replace it ???
Why, Is it damaged ???

They can be rebuilt, just some o-rings inside and a couple gaskets mounting it, all available from Ford.

I believe all IDI oil coolers are basically the same.

83-94 same thing. except for the turbo models, those have more tubes for greater cooling capacity.

Man that price has come down.

Five years or so ago the rear header alone was over 300 dollars.
At that time the cooler bundle alone was right at 1000 dollars.

Mine is leaking internally, nothing on the outside of the engine, only into the cooling system.

Probably o-rings ... there are four o-rings that keep the oil and water separate, two are standard, two are dealer items only, and two gaskets ... the whole package is just under $50 bux at Ford.

Hardest part is getting the cooler out and in.
