Start out on big,long hill, reset MPG gauge, get rolling, put truck in neutral and coast down---maybe then

I noticed the same rating on a F150 "Limited" in the dealer showroom... I agree with the rolling downhill scenario, but I think we should add a tailwind...

That article is almost a year old. Probably was automotive journalistic optimism when published.

They should stop saying "estimated" and just say "wishful thinking". You can count on about 5mpg less than whatever is posted.

22, eh? Maybe they were talking about the diesel? (nope, not going there)

Conversely, my '96 t-bird and '97 Cougar, both 4.6L's, both said something like 17 city and 25 highway on the sticker. Highway, they are capable of 25, been there, done that.

But city, even when I'm VERY careful, I got 11. The Cougar is down to 10 now.
