Sweet! Alignment's are overrated! lol 2 years and still going strong for me So I take it you got your dizzy for the wheeler?

I stumbled upon a 1995 chevy silverado 2500hd with rebuilt 454 in it. Perfect for hauling a camper and hopefully some nice size tires. Waiting till friday to check it out. Hope its all its made out to be.

I know I wish it was a ford but for the price I couldn't pass it up. Whats a 285 equivalent in inches? I would like to run 35's minimum, willing to trim if needed but rather not lift.

33s.

With bushwacker cut out flairs 35s would fit on there. Without a lift.

Well then bushwacker flairs and a 4" lift should fit 38's fine, that's what I would prefer. I just wonder if I'd still be able to fit a 5th wheel under it. Well I'm probably jumping the gun a little, should probably get the truck before I decide what I'm going to do with it. lol

So when are you going to throw the distributor in the truck? You should get that out to the desert yet this winter, I'd bet that would be a blast.

You do realize a lift for a Chevy IFS is $1000 or better right?

I'm thinkin I'll put it in Friday sometime.

DAMN! No I didn't realize this. Well with the price for the truck I should be able to lift it and put tires on and still be around or under average retail. Are the IFS in chevy comparable to fords? Do you think ones weaker than another?

I'm personally not a fan of Chevy IFS, they have twice the bushings as a Ford TTB, they run CV shafts, and a axle disconnect. They do alright if you don't use it too hard. The 2500 does have a heavier version thhanb the 1500 tho, so that's a bonus.

Well that's good to know. I'll have to look into it a bit. Don't know much about the chevy fronts.

They ride nice. Lol. For a dual purpose rig, I'd prefer a Ford of a (hate to say it) Dodge, due to the solid fronts. Dodge in all pickups up to 2000 something and Ttb or solid in Fords with exception of 97 up half tons
