Tailgate help
Can anybody post a pic of what the cover piece on the tailgate looks like on a 1987 x-cab long bed xlt lariet. I have seen some with it and some with out it. Mine has big holes where some kind of plate is supposed to be and FORD is stamped into the gate. My 1986 has a plate and was wondering if it is the same piece

The '80-86 panel didn't reach the edges of the t/g, so it won't cover the 4 holes in the side lips. You need either the '87-91 panel with the red reflective stripe, or the '92-97 panel with the smoke black stripe. They'll both fit your t/g fine. The Bronco version has the blue oval on the other side and a hole for the t/g lock cylinder, so don't try to use it on a pickup. You can see mine in my signature link.

Tailgate help
I have an 88 fleetside and was wondering where I can get some miscellaneous t/g parts short of the junkyard. I need the two round posts that the bottom of the t/g slips onto, and also one of the posts that the latch strikes when it closes. I also need a new latch mechanism.
