I am a new member and new Excursion owner. Its a 2000 Limited with 105,000 miles. It has a few issues but the left lower tri-door cannot be opened. Can the lock or latch be accessed from behind the inside door panel. Does the door panel just pull off? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There should be a latch handle on the vertical side for the left door. It is only accessed by opening the right door first...after you have lift up the rear glass.
Are you saying that the latch handle on the left barn door does nothing when you pull on it?
Welcome! Yes, the interior panel just pulls off and there are large holes in the inside of the barn door. There is a plastic sheet across the holes so you will need some spray glue to reattach it.
My drivers side panel is off so I can check later today to make sure you can get to the latch from there.
Thanks for the welcome, and response! The handle operates but its not opening the latch. I tried to get some spray down the handle opening. I will have to wait for it to warm up a bit, I dont think I better pull the door panel off and have it crack from being frozen. Does any one know how the handle it self is attached. It looks like some kind of pop rivit, or else a fastener from the inside. Thanks again!
