f3 f1 difference

hello. i think we have a buyer for the f3 and we are wandering what is the difference between the f1 and f3..besides the bed rear fenders etc.

Wheel base is 122" vs 114" for the F-1. F-3's frame is thicker metal, stiffer springs, rear axle's 4.86 gear, and 17" wheels are the main differences. Depending on year of the F-3 you'd have parking brake on the transmission in late '51 and '52. Earlier trucks had it at the wheels with 14" rear drums. Stu

thanks stu....so the front fenders are almost the same as a f1...same as the grill

Grille is the same. Fenders of the F-2/3/4/5/6 have wider wheel openings to handle bigger tires. Stu
