Correct tranny fluid ?
Wanted to ask you guys what the CORRECT type of tranny fluid it is that should be used ? I have an '86 Ford F150 XL, with auto tranny (C6 I believe, but not positive). I've been using Dex/Merc and had no issues, but wanted to ask if it should be either the Dex/Merc or Type F?

On my reman. '82 C6 Im running DEX/MERCON and runs great. I went and checked with the ford dealer and they confirmed that MERCON V supersedes the old DEX/MERCON spec. IIRC Type F would be pre-1979, but nowadays pre 1979 transmissions are being rebuilt with clutches made to run DEX/MERC, Ive read on the web that B&M Trick Shift is relabled TYPE F and lots of people use on DEXRON/MERC spec. transmissions. You will be safe using DEX/MERC while its still available or MERCON V if you got the extra cash.
