I have no idea what those numbers stand for, but my Diesel C6 in my motorhome has 1 stamped on it, and I think the C6 in my F150 has 6 stamped on it. Has nothing to do with witch tranny it is that I know.
Only 3 different autos for 1989 half tons.
P R N (D) 2 1 = E4OD
P R N (D) D 1 = AOD
P R N D 2 1 = C6

I think those numbers are just casting numbers. Need a picture of the bottom of the transmissions or transmission code to be sure. AODE...wasn't released until after '89...I am still guessing AOD. I had an '88 half ton and it was equipped with AOD.
