Considering swapping 2006 Expys

I've got a 2006 Eddie Bauer with 124,000 miles. I maintain it like clockwork at 5,000 mile intervals and she's in great shape for the mileage. My goal since I got it has always been to keep it maintained so I can get a lot of life out of it (i.e., 250,000+ miles)

I found a 2006 King Ranch with 61,000 miles. Obviously, the mileage difference is very appealing. If I go by Kelly Bluebook value for "average tradein" for my EB, it appears I could get the KR for probably about $8,000 all said and done.

Here's the rub - over the last 10,000 miles, I've sunk probably $3,500 into suspension related items on my EB, just regular wear and tear stuff for a vehicle with 124k miles. New bearings (left front & rear), CV joints, sway bar, brake rotors, etc etc etc, tons more to list. I bought a new set of tires probably 15,000 miles ago, so I'm good there for awhile.

From what I can tell, my EB and the KR I'm looking at is the EXACT same vehicle with the same features (even down to the wood grain steering wheel), really the only difference is the rawhide leather in the KR (which I actually kinda dig). But considering I"ve pretty much ponied up for the necessary maintainence items that can keep my EB rolling another 125,000 miles, I'm reluctant. BUT, the mileage on this truck is really appealing (especially since anymore I put maybe 10,000 - 15,000 miles on it a year). I guess I'm just looking for some frank opinions on if you think I'd be an idiot to do the trade since I've already invested quite a lot in my EB, or if in the long run, I'm better off getting the pretty-much exact same truck with pretty much half the miles. Appreicate any opinions.

I'd say keep the one you have, you already know what you've got.

$8000 still buys a lot of parts that haven't been replaced yet.

It doesn't seem like a good deal to me. Looks like you would spend $8K to buy what you already own. You would also be getting rid of a truck you know the condition of, for one you don't know. With continued maintenance and how much you drive, you are looking at 10+ years of driving on your current rig.
Seems like a better idea to bank your money to use buying gas.

Ditto, keep what you have. If you are that into the skins, buy them not the whole car. Go aftermarket, go to a wrecker, whatever, but it's not worth bothering over seat covers in my opinion. For 500-1000 you could probably get seat covers. You have yourself pretty well set up for another 100-125k right now, in 40k the new one will need all the stuff you just did.

These are all great points - thanks guys. I guess my thinking was that it's going to take me probably 4 - 5 years at my current driving rate to get back to 125,000 miles before I would get to the point that I am at now with my current rig. But, I know my truck inside and out, and to pay $7-$8K to switch out to the same vehicle that I don't know is a valid point. I appreciate everyone's thoughts. Thinking I'll just keep 'er.
