Ford Under Warranty
Well I am looking for some help. I am thinking about purchasing a 6.4 f250 that is supposely stock from a Chevy dealer. I am trying to get them to put in writing that it will still be under the power train warranty. It has 33K on it. I looked at the window sticker, and cannot tell if it s Job 1, etc. I have the vin, but the vehicle is about 3.5 hours away. The car fax looks like it has had service every 5 to 6 thousands at a ford dealer. Is there anyway to determine if Ford will warranty it for the remainder of the 5 year 100K without having to have them physically taking it to the dealer? If it was covered, I would be willing to purchase it online, and maybe through delivery in to the deal. Here is the VIN incase anyone needs it.
VIN - 1FTSW21R98EA64052
Thanks

I don't hink that the powertrain has a 5 yr 100,000 warranty. I think the powertrain is 60,000 though I could be mistaken on that. I know the Diesel engine has 5yr 100,000 mile warranty. I ma sure some others will chime in on it.
You can call a Ford dealership and tell them you are thinking of buying this truck and see if they will run an Oasis report for you. Good luck.

Go to the closest ford dealer - get the oasis report - and take the service writer a gift certificate - build a relationship. A good service writer will do more for you than any Ford Customer Service rep on the phone.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o>
For the remainder of the warranty period - just accept that you should be working with a dealer. Otherwise you'll be in for grief. There are enough issues with these 6.4 machines you will be on a friendly basis with the service writer. These trucks are work horses - but like any workhorse you gotta shovel some poop.<o></o>
