rear end problems
my rear end i just had to replace the pinion seal and bearing right behind the seal and changed the oil in the rear and put the correct additive in it when i serviced it but the reason i serviced it was because tight cornering the rear is jerking bad eneugh it shakes the whole truck and makes a loud popping noise im afraid that im going to blo the rear apart. its the 10.5" locking rear. it was fine and perfect till about 5 days ago when everything started thats the reason for servicing everything and when i took the nut on the pinion loose it was extremly loose and i think thats why the bearing was chewed up like it was. any suggestions what it could be making the jerking popping?
WELCOME to FTE!
It sounds like that rear is going to need more work soon. Cornering noise is usually the spider gears. Did you find any metal in it or on the magnet when you opened it up?
Very small chunks I was thinking it maby comming from that bad outer pinion bearing but not shure
Someone said it might be a broken axel heating up and welding its self to the housing then breaking.
Any ideas?
