96 3.0L idling poor and 401 code
I just had my Check engine light come on and my truck acts like the idle is sputtering a little sometimes. It also seems to feel weak and sputtery when driving at highway speeds some of the time but not all of the time. I had them tell me the code it threw out at Autozone and it said 401 and that it was a problem with the exaust of the fuel not being comeplete or something. The guy there said that it would probably go away when i changed the spark plug wires and plugs. Well going against my better "they are just trying to sell you something" judgement, I change both the spark plugs and the wires. it still seems to be acting up a little and I'm worried about this because in a week I have to relocate because of my job to a town that is 3 hours away and don't want to be stranded. PLease help!

A code 0401 is an EGR code and almost everything in that system can cause it. The best thing to do is run the pinpoint tests to determine the exact cause but the DPFE sensor is the most common cause.
