I have a set of BFG 295/75-16's T/A KO's on my '01 Expedition. Since they are significantly larger than the 255's that came on the truck, should I run them at the same recommended pressure (35 rear/30 front)? Or, should I run them higher?
First off, since the tires are larger, they will need less pressure to wear correctly.
Someone mentioned in another thread about using chaulk. Make lines about an inch wide across the entire tread. Drive forward or reverse in a straight line. Check the chaulk lines. If there is more wear on the outside of the tire, increase pressure, and if there is more wear on the middle of the tire, decrease pressure.
Repeat this until the wear is even.
My first clue would be to drop about 5 psi and start from there.
