Just picked up an 03 F350, extended cab, V10, 4x4 as a family hauler pickup.
I need some help with an issue, truck has 124k on the ticker, noticed that it is running a little rough at idle, and has a bit of a shudder around 55-60 mph. It smooths out if I slow down a little and get it to down shift.
It will be going back to the dealer for the repair, as there is a warranty on it, however I want an opinion from people who know these trucks and engines.
Second the bad coil....and the check engine light doesnt always turn on for them either. You need a scanner to determine if it is a misfire and what cyl it is as well.
Yes, have them check for misfires, and if one cylinder in particular shows up, change the COP and boot on that cylinder. Might be a good idea to "do the plugs" at this time while they are already in there. You might, as it's under warranty, get them to either do all the plugs, or at least cut you a break on the labor seeing as they are already in there.
