Question 302 intake

I need to get a intake manifold and cam. I was planning on using a holly truck avg. carb. Any suggestions on this? It's for a 4x4 truck. I have headers. I need power... All I have is a 302, it's what I'm working with.

As for the intake, any good dual plane intake will work for what you are wanting to do. The Edelbrock Performer 289 would be pretty good. Just stay away from single plane intakes. If you are serious about wanting power, then quite frankly, I'd forget the cam for the moment and focus on putting nickels in your piggy bank for a set of aftermarket heads. A 302 in a 4x4 is going to need a lot of help and the heads are the bottleneck. You've got to let it breathe.

A duel pland aluminum high rise type will be the best for your engine. BlueOvalRage is
right on the money about cylinder heads. Agood set of aftermarket heads will wake that
302 up.

The Edelbrock mentioned or similar would work out better in a truck. You need torque, not horsepower. High rise intakes are better in HP applications.
