cruise control help
My cruise does not work at all. There is no power going to it. with this not working it is confusing the tranny. E40D. when i get up to highway speeds it makes the OD light flash and then the speedo bounces and it shifts extremely hard for 1-2 and 2-3. I have to unhook the batteries and flash the pcm and then it is fine till i have to drive on the highway again. Does anybody have a wiring diagram of the cruise. I have the steering colum apart right now. Also i did some reading on this and found where somebody had a bad tach sensor that was causing similar problems. I have already replaced the vss and thinking that maybe i just got a bad one right out of the box. Where is the tach sensor located.

i didn't either but i met a guy that had the same problem, He has the same truck just a 350. we ran the codes on his computer and it brought up the same on he had. Something with the cruise control modular. the problem is the po put in a different steering column because he somehow broke the shifter off. This column is out of a bronco. he never got the cruise hooked up right and i bought it right after he did this so he never really drove it. I didn't think the cruise would give me these problems at time of purchase.
