Welcome to FTE! That's a pretty nice looking rig you have there. This truly is a great forum. I do a lot of reading here whenever I need information on anything 7.3 Powerstroke related. Whatever you need to know, it's here. Plenty of experts and gurus here that seem to always chime in when needed. Great resource.

Limited to basic maint. stuff and have built a few race cars, Mustangs,
not drag racing mostly autocross and road racing, my mech skills are up to par. I did a lot of research before I bought the truck for problem with the 7.3 seem to a proven engine.
Cold weather operation is a concern since I am in Mass/New Hampshire
but searches on the forum here should give some good information.
Any specific pointers or direction would be appreciated.
Thanks, Greg

Looks like a truck that has been taken care of. Enjoy it and stay around here to learn more about it than you ever thought! This forum is better than an owners manual!

Welcome! Real nice looking truck. Great photo (black truck in white snow...)

Could use a few more Gregs around here anyway....

EDIT: You asked for some pointers....
Well, there are a few great vendors here that you will get to know. So far I have used Riffraff Diesel, partsguyed.com, dieselorings.com and diyinjectors.com (Rosewood diesel). All of them have been very helpful to me, my truck and my wallet. Also, check out the cold start sticky to address your cold start concerns. I picked up a digital volt gauge that I like, (I'll post a pic that shows my volt readings at various stages of the glow plug operation). I purchased the volt meter on Amazon.com.

Oh yeah, this site is super helpful:
Powerstroke Mods and Maintenance

Happy reading. Ask any question, you are bound to get some helpful answers. The PSD owners here are really helpful.

Welcome to the 7.3 side of FTE. glad you're here!
as far as cold weather stuff goes. change you oil over to a 5/40 synthetic. your truck will love you for it. of course that's just my opinion, but alot of us run syn oil and won't run anything else. congrats on the "new" truck. it looks great

Any preference to the brand, Valvoline, Amsoil, Castrol?
Thanks Greg
