First thing first.... I know it is not a DP, TW, PHP.....
But I couldn't spend the money on one right now. I bought a used superships off ebay. I just put it in my truck tonight. I put it in the highest setting supposed to be 100hp. Took it for a quick drive, I could feel more power just driving down the road. I was heading back while going up a hill. Had to have it in 4wd due to some snow on the road. I floored it and happen to look at the boost gauge and it was at 23 psi, stock was 17psi. I turned around i the road and with the back-up lights I could see it smokes now if I smack the throttle. My fuel economy is going to suck so probably will use a lower setting but going to drive it for a day or two on the performance setting.
Someday I will get a real tuner........
I used to have a SCMT for awhile. It had decent power when empty but failed to perform when towing. The highest setting was my daily driver and the mileage was ok. Just be careful using it while towing.
Oh ok. Like I said I did see the boost at 23 psi. Also I noticed that when driving down the road and the boost was around 15 psi, the needle was fluttering. I have a WW just to get the time to install.
I'll keep an eye at the other gauges.
Thanks
I had problems with both of the tow tunes. It seemed like I had less power than stock when using the tow tunes. After some testing I found that both tow tunes would keep the boost lower than running stock tunes. I sent it back a couple times and they told me they "rebuilt" it and replaced the tunes. It acted the same when I got it back! Superchips told me it was something wrong with the truck. Sold it and got a DP Tuner and everything was good again!
Enjoy your new tuner and when you are ready to take the training wheels off, give Jody a call. Just kidding, I had he Superchips 1705, still do for that matter, for a while before I found about Jody tunes. I will tell you this, as much as you think the SC tuner gave you, will seem like nothing when it's tuned by Jody.
I know it is just a stepping stone (training wheels). Just couldn't justify spending that much money right now.
Shees, they must be giving those SC away on Craigs and E-BAY. 3 fitty and some change and you can have it all (DP Tuner), lol. Another one just bustin but its an improvement over stock so your not too bad. I can say this because I had one, still do, I use it for a code reader now, happy motoring..
