I have to get mine into the body shop. Some damn crazy woman thought she saw a deer, cut down the pole in front of my old home and her front axle hit the bedside. No Damn Insurance. Guess, I will BONDO the bedside until I can find a bed later one. There ain't no plastic in my truck and I am not starting now.

Paul what size bed do you have? There is a guy near me with a rust free bed he wants to sell. I think its 8 ft. He took it off to put an aluminum flatbed on because its a farm truck.

if that doesnt work why dont you look at buying a bedside for it instead of replacing the whole bed

I have a short bed with a single filler. I have thought about just buying a bedside but there is a difference at how I install it and how bodyshops do. I had a bedside replaced once and sheety job is the description of the work and it was a preferred shop. If I was physically able, I would put it on myself, but I am not.

Cheeto, that 74 may have a 429/460. They were a popular engine at that time. Look behind the carb and see if it has been smogged or not.

Paul the truck def has an FE. Now this is interesting. I came home tonight and noticed it was a full truck length farther forward than it was before so i looked it over and someone had poured gas down the carb to get it to run. Little did they know that the motor isnt entirely hooked up at this point and i guess they tried to push start it. I pulled the plug wires tonight and ima stay up and watch.

Alright... how about a bump for this thread with my former ride. Got it in high school and drove it almost daily until I got my F250 in 2007.

296k miles, 2.8LV6 with Offy intake, Holley 390 4V, headers, Crane cam, and some other goodies. RIP.
