Calling All Trans. Experts

Here's my deal...truck is a 96 250 5.8 E4OD. I blew the tranny 2 years ago, and was lucky enough to find a decent used one. Slapped it in and its been fine for 2 years. Still is, actually, but I don't know its history, mileage, etc. My question is should I have the original tranny rebuilt? It had 225k on it, was plowed with and the fluid was never changed. What did it in was the forward clutch packs. Its been sitting 2 years and I'm sick of tripping over it. So should I rebuild this one? Someone mentioned a kit called a "Sonnix" <sp?> that bullet-proofs these, but my impression is that by '96, they were already bullitproofed. Right or wrong? Is there anything else to address while rebuilding? I'll def. be adding an aux. cooler. I don't want to do this job twice, so anything you guys can add will be appreciated!

wouldnt count to much on it...these transmissions usually are pretty strong..your best bet is to put a shift kit in the new trans...and if u wanna rebuild that one to stock with a shift kit and a new trans cooler it should be pretty stout
