blower for heat is always on defrost?

just picked a 2000 ex up. the blower is always on defrost.the vent works 50% of the time.no floor at all.any ideas?

Maybe a leak in the vacuum lines under the hood, passenger side behind the battery. Check the hoses.

i am sure it is a vacume leak but i don't know where..if i have it on vent ,it works until you give it gas then it kicks back to defrost.
thanks i will check behind the battery tonight.

I've experienced that same leak location. I've also had to replace the vacuum pump twice. No problems since the replacement.
