i just bought a 79 extend cab 250 lowboy 4wheel drive. it has to go up. should i go staight for the lift. i have a cherokee that loves mud and rock trail. my wife is taking the jeep and i dont want her winching me though the trail all day. can i make this beast flex. help, i have to get started working on it soon
you dont plan on taking your 7 foot wide, 25 foot long truck up the same trails as your cherokee, do you?? your cherokee is coil sprung, iirc, and the supercab is leaf sprung, sso you wont get the same flex out of the truck as you do out of the jeep. it can make a capable trail vehicle, but in my opinion, it wont out wheel a lifted cherokee.
not to change the subject ,but what is the weight of a truck bed and how do ya seperate it an put it back together, like good bed sides to a good bed thanks in advance
wasowski, you would be better off starting a new thread about this question....the replies here will just confuse you and Pupdogg77, as you wont know who is talking to who....
not looking to out wheel the cherokee. just looking for some flex. i saw something about super duty springs and shackle flipping. i want 35s and some flex. air lockers already on the
A rear shackle flip will give you some better flex and the front you can run SD springs which flex alright which is what I run but the rear flexed better on the ramp.
Here's some pics
2000ish super duty springs .mine are pro comps @ $300 for the set CND which is cheap. As for shackle flip you'll gain only a couple inches unless you change your stock rear spring hanger. I would strongly suggest to take off the front mounted hanger and use it in the rear mounted hangers position as it has the mounting for shackle much lower and you will gain more. Now to replace the front one I use a early 80's chev truck one as they are very tall ,close to a foot and will level out both sides of spring to be now more even. This together will gain you 4-6"s. I have pics in my galleries I think
