The VIN tag should be on the driver's door; I'm sure this is what you're saying is missing. The frame is also stamped with the VIN; I'm not sure exactly where it is but I recollect it being under the hood near the front of the truck. It's barely visible; if the frame is rusty then you'll have a hard time finding it. I never knew that they did this until I sandblasted a frame.

vin location

I believe the vin is in two places on the frame. One is under the passenger door on top of the frame. The other is on top of the frame in front of the passenger side motor mount stand off. If i am wrong my 67 long bed has a different frame . I just wire brushed the whole thing and repainted last fall.
If you cant read the one under the hood you may be able to sand the frame under the passenger door and see it with an inspection mirror. good luck to ya.

The VIN is stamped 2 times on the top of the passenger side frame rail. Once under the cab, and once about where the axle crosses under. As mentioned it can be a bugger to dig out but it is there running long ways.

Welcome to FTE

The (11 digit) VIN is stamped on the Warranty Plate, located on the left door face below the latch. Example 1967 F100 2WD VIN: F10YRA00001.

But...you should not go by this VIN because...some people swapped damaged left doors with used doors. 99.9% of the time, they did not install the original Warranty Plate on the replaced door.

Look on the frame for the hidden VIN(s). Once found, compare with the VIN on the Warranty Plate to see if they match.

btw: 1967 doors are unique to 1967 only: You push the inside handle forward to lock the doors from the inside.

1968/72 doors have door lock ***** and can be installed on 1967's, as the hinges are the same.
