Leaving work, truck would not start. To be specific, wouldn't turn over, not even a sound. lights and everything else work. Just doesn't seem to have enough juice to crank. Thought my battery was dead so had coworker jump me. (10v on dash meter) Still nothing, not a sound. except for fuel pump. Jump starting didnt work, so thought it would be my alternator, because my headlights were flickering this morning. Took battery out, got picked up went home and slapped the charger on the battery and it's telling me 100% and fully charged! Got a hold of a new alternator put it on, and still the same thing! Got a "fully charged" battery a new alternator and truck still wouldnt start not a sound ( didnt turn over ) So i BUMP started it and it started. Let it warm up, took for a long rip to perhaps get more charge in the battery incase the charger was wrong. Got home, turned truck off, then tried to start again and still wouldnt turn over. Is this now narrowed down to my starter?!?!
Could be the fender mounted starter relay. It is on pass side inner fender near battery. Try jumping the two large terminals on it with a wrench or similar. If the starter then runs pull the light gauge wire off of it and jump that terminal to battery positive. If the starter does not run then the relay is bad so needs to be replaced.
Pulled the codes and it's telling me "primary coil circuit failure" I'm thinking I have a loose connection at the new MSD coil?? I just did the ignition upgrade, and used universal taylor spiropro, so did all the cutting to length and crimping. If I'm save to believe this is my problem, let me know guys before I start monkeying around. hahaha. By the way... it starts now....weird.
