Battery Light

Greetings. 98 f150 4.6 xcab. Two days ago my battery light came on. Last time that happened, it wasn't charging due to a blown fuse under the hood. This go round, the light flickered intermittently for a few hours, then stayed on. Having driven it for two days (nearly 200 miles) there is no drain on the battery according to the gauge. Im also running 2 10" subs and always have my lights on. There has been no change in the amperage on the gauge? Could someone help explain this to me please? Thanks in advance!

Stephen

Maybe whatever wire turns that battery light on is shorting out somewhere and causing it to stay on when it shouldnt?
Find out which wire monitors the charging output of the alternator and check it. It could be damaged, corroded or for whatever reason saying that the alternator is not charging, when obviously it must be if you're driving around.

Checked all the fuses, all wires, and still nothing. Im going to take it off tomorrow and check the brushes and the regulator then take it to Advance and have them check it. Charges fine, just battery light is on.

lol new dosent mean anything these days. i bought a new alternator from ford yesterday and it was bad so dont think just b/c its new its not bad. i would have both advance and autozone check your battery and your alternator before you go "tearing" into anything
