Good luck with PMS (Powerstroke Mod Syndrome) Next are gauges for sure. You need to have an eye on Temps, at the very least you need a Pyro but most of us get tranny temp and boost as well. If yours is a manual then you can replace the tranny temp with something like fuel pressure or oil temp or whatever.
After that is Injectors and then automatic rebuild or manual clutch, then after that electric fuel and intercooler, then turbo... It just never ends...
Maybe first tell us what your goals are for the truck, then we can head you in a better direction.
its a work truck, for our landscaping business. Gonna be pulling a trailer everyday. It has a tranny cooler already, rebuild should come this spring with a shift kit and updated parts. current mods are in the signature. We want reliable, but if we need to pull 10 yards of mulch, we can and hopefully not feel its back there.

Powerwise, your stock injectors are very limiting. First and foremost, you need gauges to keep an eye on temps especially since you will be towing. You don't want the engine to meltdown on you when all it would have taken was a couple hours to install some gauges and it could have been avoidable.
Like i said stock injectors will limit you to about 230hp with a chip. You will need to look into upgrading those in the future if you want more than that. Stage 1's, chip, intercooler, rebuild on the tranny and you will have somewhere in the neighborhood of 325-350 and you will be pulling your trailer no problem.
If you want more than that, its going to get expensive quick. The next step up would include small Hybrids or stage 2's, HPOP, turbo, electric fuel, intercooler, chip, pushrods, springs, studs... So you can see where it starts to add up.
The Scan Gauge is great as it sees basically everything the computer see's. However If it were me, I would still get an analog EGT gauge as you have a chip and your towing.
By the way, Scan Gauges are backordered everywhere right now...
With 265k miles, injectors would be worn unless they have been replaced. Check out Rosewood Diesel, you may be surprised how much a rebuilt set of injectors runs you...
If you are gonna be towing everyday I would suggest getting a custom tuned chip like TW, DP, or PHP. They will help lower the EGTs a little more than the hypermax. Of course That is after the gauges
