what to expect ?

Hi everyone I have a 73 f100, I have almost completed a frame off resto 70 460 misc.performance goodies c6 3000 stall w 390 posi rear . Ijust bought a compu car nitrous set up and was wondering if i need to do anything to the motor to get ready for this. Also was wondering what kind of performance to expect from this set up.
The system is an adjustable plate sys 150-400 hp. any help would be appreciated thanks.

Dude that should rock. Did you rebuild the engine? you said 70 model right?

Probably about the same setup I'm running. I'm running c8's with forged pistons. I'm running a top gun plate now. only running a small shot I think its 100 or 150 can't remember which. Anyhow its nothing for it. I'm going to order a electric fuel pump to run inline with the mechanical pump, and then put a regulator on the fuel solenoid to control the pressure with the electric pump. Might up the jets then. Also make sure you run a good ingnition system msd etc...

Performance wise with my current setup on just the mechanical pump I run 8 degrees initial and right now only have about 32 total timing which is not enough needs to be changed, but I have a 3.5 open rear and with a roll in 1st it will bust the street tires loose on the nitrous. Its giddy fun having a big truck move like that. Right now with the small shot its a conservative mid to high 14 sec ride.

You should be alot faster than me though with the gear your running, and the stall. Just work on hooking it up off the line, because you will have some traction problems.

Anyhow this is a long reply, shoot me an pm if you have any other ?

Start shopping for a pair of slicks, with 3000 stall and three-ninety gearing your gonna need em.
Your also going to need a timing retard box for anything above a 100 HP shot of NOS. Even with only a 250 HP shot I have to pull at least 6 degrees out to run safely (28 degrees total advance) with a 400 HP shot you'll need to pull 10-12 degrees maybe more. What are you running for pistons and rods?

The max a hyper piston can hold as far as NOS goes is around a 150 shot.
