Piston Slap?

I've owned more Fords than any other brand, however I wouldn't call myself brand loyal to them. Over the years I've just liked the looks and price of them over the competition. I've owned several GM's and have loved them. Because I lease, it's been a matter of convienience to drop off my old Ford lease and pick up another. The only brand I won't touch is Chrysler. I've owned three of them, and each one was a mechanical nightmare!

But I'm more pissed at the dealership than at the vehicle. Even if it was a patch to get it fixed, I'd at least feel that the dealership was doing SOMETHING to keep me happy and to keep my business. I can say other than this engine thing, the truck has performed flawlessly. Like I said, before the Expy I've had a F-150 and a Ranger. Both great trucks, nothing but good things to say about them.

You and I have paid a pretty penny to drive the Expy, the least I'd expect from Ford is decent service from it's dealers!

At least I have this forum to vent tho!

Ktmguy70, the problem with message boards is you will only find people with problem looking for help in fixing them, or people wanting to modify things for improvements. While you do see conversations about good things, they are not nearly as common. I bet most people on this board really love their Ford, but just don't say so everyday.

As for your expy thefeath, I have a '97, and we love it. I do feel it is underpowered, but that's my wife's problem. The only problem I have had was the u-joints in the rear driveshaft went bad. Other than that, it was has been very smooth and quiet. I feel it is your dealership, and I have found that in the Denver area, there are few excellent Ford dealers. Once I found one that provides honest, quality service, that is where I take my vehicle for the repairs I cannot perform myself. I wish you good luck in your Expy. Maybe a letter to Ford to complain about your service problem will get you somewhere. Maybe you could park your Expy near the dealership with a sign stating "My Expedition has engine problems, and Ford won't repair it!". I bet they would quickly negotiate with you!

Ha ha!

Have heard of some folks doing just that with dealerships/vehicles. Too darn bad it goes that far!

Thanks tho!

P.S. I do love the truck, so please don't take it as a slam to Ford on the whole.

Adelyser,, Oh I agree.. The whole reason I came on here is because I have a "bump" in my driveline somewhere which I still havent figured out yet.. So I DO agree that alot of the good is left out. However it leaves a sour taste in your mouth reading so many problems, just as reading praise makes you all warm and fuzzy. I am by no means knocking Ford, or the Expy..
Wish ford still had the SHO though, I love mine!
