02 PSD
Looking at 02 PSD CC/SB 103,000mi. Black in color. Clean carfax. Asking price 17k. Any thoughts. I have no experience with PSD but have always wanted one. I have never owned a SB truck but this one is so nice I might make an exception. I geberally know what to look for but I not familiar with the engine but have been reading down in the 7.3 section. Any specific problems with the 02 model year? Any help appreciated.

No problems with an 02, trans may have the problematic mechanical diode, but that wouldn't stop me from getting it.
Price is a little high, I would try to work them down in to the 13-14K range.

thanks for the reply. I thought price was a little high as well. Whats the fix for the diode problem in the trans( I mean how much $?) Whats the life expectancy of the auto trans in these trucks.

A year ago I bought a 2002 f350 psd 7.3 CC/LB lariat 4x4 for $20k with 107,000 miles. Now I know it is high but the truck was literally in perfect condition, people think it is a 2007. Not to mention it had a fully built suncoast tranny and torque converter, 5" lift with deaver springs, dual front shocks, air bags, and a few other things. However, her in CA 7.3 are a diamond in the rough and people are getting a pretty penny for them (if in perfect condition). The only problem we had with the truck is a bad IPR and CPS. Other than that it is the perfect truck.
