I have a 96 f250 im been working on for the past 3 months a week ago i replaced the thermostat and couldnt get it to seal finally got it done rite tonight and washed all the old coolant off drove my truck 60 miles ran great amazing and about 2 miles from home it died! tried to start it. it would rev up and down almost like a drag car at idle wouldnt rev up just varump varump varump number 2 relay in the engine compartment clicks and the wait to start and check engine light flash on and off it has a reman idm in it as of 3 months ago switched a diffrent relay in its place nothing changed

dude i would take the idm off , 5 min job shack it and well you no the rest, if there is water in it throw it a way and find a new one, like out of a 99 to 03 sd, then you get you 120 mod, thats where id start bud
so that sounds like the idm went bad then? lets say i didnt tell you i washed my engine compartment what would you have said?
lol dude call me crazy, but any time my old girl has a fit, its the idm, i spent like 1200 bucks last year on it was in OK working it did this, icp new 3 or 4 cps, injecter and valve cover harnisses sencers, then see on here abouy the idm, it had water in it, took myn ouy of 2000 parts truck and never looked back, i keep a spare idm behind back seat, and 2 cps in glove box, if i have a flat tire its because of that dam idm!!!
