Couple Issues
I see threads about EGR cooler symtoms where the oil and coolant temps are 10 or so degrees apart. My gauges used to read 190 for both, now the coolant is usually 190 and the oil is 180ish. It seems like if the oil were 10 degrees HOTTER the cooler would be going bad, but I don't know. It's cold as heck here so maybe it's the weather?
I also seem to be getting more turbo chuff-chuffing when going from WOT to foot off the accelerator. I've read it could be rust? EG valve? I've never checked the valve or cleaned it. The truck has 79000 miles and I plowed for several seasons and idled for hours and hours on end waiting for snow to accumulate. Maybe the EGR valve needs replacing? Just for due diligence maybe.
Lastly, the other day I romped on it and down a long sraight away the turbo went buck wild and my gauge read almost 40 psi. I have the Innovative street tune and only hot rod now and again. Diesel is $3.50 a gallon so I am rather conservative.
Ok, this is the real last issue, I had some whiteness on the degas a month or so ago and my degas bottle cap was loose. I've tried to get it to blow some coolant again just to see if its an HG issue or something else. I forget all the things that could cause coolant out the degas other than bad HG.
Any ideas are appreciated.
