Does anyone have any experience with the agr super pump? I've been looking at one but would like to know if its worth the extra money. I'm on my second pump in about a 2 year span. Been getting my pump from carquest. Any suggestions comments or anything! Thanks!!!
Have you talked to anyone at Redhead yet? Everyone that has them on here say very good things about them. This is the info they sent me. You have to know the splines on the shaft....
You can go to the top side of the pitman arm, find one of the 4 wide master splines, take a ball point pen and start in one wide master spline and click around to the next wide master spline. It will click 8 (=32 spline) or 9 (=36 spline). This is not difficult to do, but it must be correct or it won't work. We would charge $100 (32 spline) or $175 (36 spline) on the core, which we would refund when you returned it. Harvey
You mean there's a better pump for our trucks too!? Mine will get loud if I'm city driving... plus, until it catches up and stops whining, steering and braking are very poor. Gets really old after awhile!
I want to install a new P series power steering pump in my 02 PSD. These pumps are much better than the OEM by a few hundred PSI and more flow. Three companies (that I know of) offer kits for $600-750 with a remote reservoir. Such companies are Lee, PSC and one other I cannot remember off hand.
Summit Racing sells the AGR P series pump with a reservoir mounted to the pump like the OEM for $325 https://summitracing.com/parts/agr-877257
Only issue I have is it requires slight modification to the OEM bracket. I'm perfectly fine with modding the bracket so long as the pump works well and the related components (hydrobooster, steering box) can handle the added flow of the P series pump.
Autozone sell brand new pump not a reman for our trucks online. You have to bleed the air out properly I used vacuum pump as I worked the steering wheel back and forth with the truck off . I have had the new pump on my truck for a year. No problems.

I wonder if it's West Texas Offroad? They have a good steering assist setup.
