cold start issue

cold start issue
went to remote start my '03 SD this morning, and only heard a ''brr'' sound. never happened before. charged battery for 5 hours, all the lights worked brightly but again only got the strange slight sound. this is not the starter, it is coming from the engine compartment, sounds like the driver side. it is really cold out, is this a solenoid issue or a remote starter problem. its a 5.4 automatic 4x4----thanks for any help

If you don't have any loose/ corroded connections at your battery, the thing to do is to remove the battery, charge it if you can, and take it in to a car parts store for a free load test.
Normally the chatter is an indicator of a dying battery. For instance, if your battery is maybe 5 years old, its dead and needs to be replaced at this point.

If you have problems with your terminal connectors go to www.remybatteries.com I have been using a set of these on my 2000 SD for three years with no corrosion problems.
