np 435 question

a friend of mine gave me a np 435 this weekend. has good bearings and is in good shape. theres only one problem. its out of a 2 wheel drive. looking at the rear tailshaft housing, it has the place for the speed sensor and obviously no place to install the transfer case shifter, it looks like i may be able to pull the tail shaft housing off of a 4x4 to put on mine. am i correct in my thinking?

I just changed the tailhousing on mine. It was a divorced transfer case, if yours is married I don't know if it would work or not.

A two wheel drive will accept a divorced tailshaft same bolt patern. Just did it myself. Just replace the gasket and seal.
